CAS - Novo Nordisk Great Wall Professorship

Following the donation of 2 million USD by Novo Nordisk to Chinese Academy of Sciences to set up Novo Nordisk-Chinese Academy of Sciences Research Foundation in March 2007, Novo Nordisk made an additional donation of 1 million USD to the Novo Nordisk-CAS Research Foundation to set up CAS - Novo Nordisk Great Wall Professorship in 2008. This donation is intended to support >10 young professors recruited through the "Thousand People Plan" and "Hundred Talent Plan" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Each of the chosen Great Wall Professors will now receive 400.000 RMB to improve employment conditions at a CAS institute that will provide additional support for a period of 3 years. The professorships are covered by the rules that apply to other projects funded or co-funded by Novo Nordisk-CAS Research Foundation. The overall goal of the professorships is to stimulate cooperation in the field of science, innovation and education between scientists at Novo Nordisk, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Danish or Nordic Universities.
